Bambaw bamboo straws are handmade in Indonesia from local bamboo. They are made from a single bamboo stem, so each straw varies slightly in color and diameter. The straws have a diameter between 6 to 10 mm.
At home or on the road
This mix of Bambaw straws comes with a convenient cotton pouch that fits all the straws, plus a separate pouch for one straw. This pouch makes it easy to keep one straw in a convenient place, such as in your car or handbag and refuse disposable straws on the go. The large bag is perfect for storing straws at home.

BambooEach bamboo straw is made from a natural bamboo stem harvested by local farmers on their land. The bamboo does not come from agricultural lands but is a non-woody forest product that is harvested by cutting away invasive bamboo plants on the farmers’ land. This provides additional income for farmers who previously burned this invasive bamboo. The bamboo is then sanded so that it is smooth and splinter-free. Finally, the bamboo is boiled and washed. Bamboo grows so quickly that it only takes a few hours for a new cane to be produced. Thanks to its strength, bamboo can go into the dishwasher and is still biodegradable, making it the perfect component for reusable straws. Pineapple hairThe bristles of the straw brush are made from pineapple leaves, making the straw brush resistant and long-lasting. An excellent example of upcycling, as these leaves are usually thrown away after the pineapple has been used as food.
