Preparation
-
01
Cut the slices of whole wheat bread into a round shape (using a cutter, kitchen scissors or bread knife). Toast the bread in the toaster. If you do not have a toaster, you can also toast the slices briefly in the oven.
-
02
After the slices are toasted, spread a little hummus on them. (according to taste)
-
03
To start making the nests, put some baby spinach leaves on the slices. The amount is completely up to you! Then cut the cherry tomatoes in half and place them with the rounded side up in the middle of each nest. These are the bodies of the ladybugs.
-
04
To make the dots for the ladybugs, cut some olives into small pieces and carefully place them on the tomatoes. Your ladybug now has dots!
-
05
To make the head of the ladybug, cut an olive in half and place it against the tomato. Use a little hummus to make the eyes of the little animal. Tip: applying the hummus is a lot easier if you use a toothpick.
-
06
Repeat for the desired number of ladybugs and ta-da! You’ve made your own ladybug garden in your own kitchen.
